Congrats, you found the secret door!
If you’ve checked out my homepage, you know I’m taking a step back from career coaching. But if you’re reading these words, it’s because you got this link from someone awesome! Which means you’re probably a pretty cool person, too. 😎
So…hey there! I’m Julia.
I help people find work that supports them in living authentic and meaningful lives.
Already know you want in? Skip the deets and apply here.
If you’re here, I’m guessing you’re feeling a bit lost and could use some direction. Whether you’re in full-on existential freakout mode or just at a career crossroads, I’ve probably helped someone in your situation (and yes, I’ve been there myself).
I’d love to help you stop spinning in circles and give you the tools to take your next steps with clarity and confidence.
You’re ready to get started - if you only knew how.
“Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life!”
“You're not supposed to love your job, that's why it's called work."
While both ends of the spectrum contain some truth, neither of them tell the full story (or are particularly helpful on their own).
Personally, I've always thought a good job is more like a good relationship. It's not always perfect and it's going to take some effort to keep it running smoothly, but at the end of the day it's work you're happy to put in.
Finding that sweet spot between realism and idealism takes time and effort, but with the right attitude it becomes a labor of love.
If you could think your way to your right livelihood, you would have done it already.
It makes sense that you aren’t sure where to start. When did someone sit you down and tell you how to find work you enjoyed? How to explore your options in a safe and enjoyable way?
Most people never get that guidance - or maybe they’ve picked up a few tips, but aren’t sure how to put them together.
That’s where I come in: to help you make sense of your past experiences, explore some promising directions, and create a strategy to move you closer to a fulfilling work life.
“I wanted to feel less stuck and more in control of my career situation. You helped me get out of my own way and from there I was able to find an opportunity that I’m excited about.

Am I the Right Coach for You?
See if any of these statements resonate for you:
You feel like you're on a path, even if you don't know where it's heading.
You want to experience congruence in all areas of your life: work, relationships, spiritual life, leisure time, etc.
You’re energized by emotional and psychological deep-diving.
You're constantly seeking to better understand yourself and the world.
You have a deeply felt connection to art, music, or nature, but you may identify as agnostic because nothing else seems to fit.
You're repelled by systems, gurus, etc. who claim to have all the answers.
You're most comfortable at the intersection of intellect and intuition, science and spirituality, skepticism and belief.
If your gut reaction to all this is “Right on!” then we’re probably a perfect match. :-)
Working With Me
My career coaching approach follows what I call the LEAP Process, designed to take you from confusion to clarity:
LOOK inward
EXPLORE your options
ASK for help and information
PERSEVERE until something clicks
Keep reading to learn more about each step.
LOOK Inward to Discover Your Career Criteria
This is where we’ll start: by getting clear on at what career elements you need to do your best work. This can include things like environment, company culture, and most-utilized skills.
By getting a general idea of what you’re looking for (even if you’re not sure exactly what it will look like), you’ll have a much more effective way of evaluating directions and opportunities.
I think of this step like framing out a house. You know what rooms to include and where they’ll be, but you don’t have all the details figured out yet. Deciding whether your countertops will be marble or Formica is less important than knowing how many bathrooms you need.
EXPLORE Your Options
If the first step was like framing out a house, this is the part where you start getting more particular about things like architectural finishes and paint colors.
Armed with your list of career criteria, I'll guide you through the process of investigating a variety of career directions and you'll pick out some appealing ones to explore further. You'll start to see how your career criteria could be fulfilled in different kinds of situations.
ASK for Help and More Information
Once you’ve narrowed down your list of potential careers to a few front-runners, it’s time to get out from behind the computer screen and into the real world by finding people in your field of interest.
These connections are a potential goldmine of information and talking to them is the most effective way I’ve found for learning about different directions, building your network, and planning your next steps. I’ll take you step by step through the process of reaching out and evaluating the information you acquire.
PERSEVERE Until You Get a Break
The hardest part of this whole process is continuing to show up despite challenges and setbacks. There may be times when it feels like nothing is happening, but every step you take towards your dream increases your odds of success. In this step, you’ll learn to work through any resistance you’re experiencing and pick up some concrete steps for sticking with the process while you wait for that lucky break.
How It Looks
The Strategy Call
We’ll start out with a free career strategy call. (There is a refundable $100 deposit that goes towards your package if we decide to move forward.) You can book that here.
This conversation gives you a chance to discuss your situation, get a taste of my coaching style, ask questions, and get a sense of whether we’d be a good fit. After the call, you’ll get a follow-up email with all the information you need to take your next steps.
the coaching package
We’ll meet for 6 sessions via phone or video call over three months. If you haven’t worked with someone this way before, you’ll get a taste during your strategy call!
Before your first session, you’ll answer a series of thought-provoking questions that will guide our work together. This first session lasts around 2 hours, and each follow-up call is an hour.
Throughout your package, you’ll get a sense of what you need to truly thrive and how to create it in your life, whether it’s going back to school for a counseling degree or leaving a corporate job to work for the National Parks Service.
Imagine for a moment that each week you get a little more insight about how to bring magic, spaciousness, and possibility into your life. What awesome things could you accomplish? I can’t wait to find out!
Whatever your dream(s), I’ll guide you through the process of exploring your options and developing a strategy for moving forward. Even after your package is over, you’ll have the tools you need to keep making progress on your own.
In addition to your 6 sessions, your package includes:
Time-tested exercises, worksheets, and personalized assignments to keep you on track.
Access to helpful supplemental materials in my Client Resource Library.
E-mail support between sessions.

Get your brain back!
When I ask potential clients to imagine what it would be like to have clarity about their next steps, they say things like:
It would be such a relief. I'd feel so much lighter.
My brain would stop constantly spinning and I could focus on other things in my life.
It would be easier to just relax and let go at the end of the day.
I'd be able to enjoy my relationships more (and my friends and family would appreciate it too!)
I'd be nicer and more patient, rather than snapping at people out of stress.
I'd feel a lot more optimistic and energized.
What would your life look like if you had more energy, optimism, and mental bandwidth? What awesomeness might you create with all the freed-up resources currently focused on fixing your career? I can’t wait to help you find out.
