Installation
This is a small sampling of the installations and exhibitions I have been involved in. I’ve handled artwork from all over the world, ranging in age from 3500 years to less than a week old. How cool is that?
Mount Making
One of the most intensive projects I worked on at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art was the fabrication and installation of brass mounts for over 300 Egyptian ushebtis.
I also fabricated mounts for other objects, including 200+ portrait miniatures and a mummy’s head, as well as color-matched many mounts for Egyptian, Chinese, and Native American objects.
Rigging
In July of 2010, I attended a rigging workshop at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation, led by Methods and Materials. We learned how to safely rig objects up to 5000 lbs, as well as receiving our forklift certifications. Upon our return to the Nelson, my coworkers and I had the opportunity to rig two Henry Moore sculptures in the Kansas City Sculpture Park.
Packing
I’ve packed many different kinds of art objects and artifacts, from contemporary ceramics to Renaissance paintings. The three pieces shown here were packed in preparation for a traveling exhibition, Inventing the Modern World: Decorative Arts at the World’s Fairs, 1851–1939.

Some of my other packing projects involved building custom pallets for pieces to be safely moved and stored.
